Granite or Quartz Engineered Stone? Food for thought...
Are you planning Light or Dark color stone? Light- maybe engineered quartz Dark- Maybe Granite more sparkle and little worry about stains
I would ask questions about Kitchen layout? and the overhang? and the appliances planned?
Quarts or Granite sometimes available in: 2cm single layer or 3cm single layer or 4cm (2cm+2cm)lam edge :-) Euro Dishwasher and Cooktop separate from Oven - (sometimes we will do subdecking in some cases to get the look you want) Sometimes we must get some special supports planned into the construction of the cabinets from the beginning for the look you may want.
If you have less than 1 ft of overhang for the quartz/engineered stone would work better or you must have decking and additional supports. Granite requires more support than engineered quartz counter-tops.
If you have much of a overhang? or an American Dishwasher with Freestanding Range? You may find it better to have 2cm over decking with wood trim over the decking underneath or 4 cm lam edge (it covers the decking needed for granite) :-) Quarts or Granite either one for this
