Do I have to Seal my Granite every 6 months like they say at Lowes or Home Depot?

You only need to seal your granite when the Water/Oil soaks in and does not bead up anymore.
The best products I have found are the Stone Impregnator - (looks Dry) and Stone Enhancer - (and it makes it look wet!), then follow up with the Stone Purifier for everyday cleaning.
If you use Windex it will take on blue colorant and dull it over time. and if you use Pledge it will fog over when you clean it with water. Soapy water from your sink over time will film over with soap. Best way to clean up the soap residue is to use the hottest water you can stand to touch and clean off with stiff terry cloth towel small area at a time. Follow up with the Stone purifier from time to time and you can use it only...
We carry these products at our showroom.
Thank you,
Mary

Often they only need sealing every 2 to 5 years
